PSYCHO-EDUCATION GROUP STARTING TONIGHT (THURSDAY).
The internationally-known Behavior Therapy Center of Greater Washington,
managed by Dr. Charles Mansueto, Ph.D., offers mental health consumers
throughout the greater Washington DC area cutting-edge group therapy for
compulsive hoarding, commencing tonight (Thursday, April 5th). Interested
mental health consumers are encouraged to call Dr. Bell (see below) for
further information, and may attend the first session at no charge to see if
it is a good "fit" for them. Several BTC Ph.D. therapists, including Dr.
Charley himself, have spoken to the Bethesda Beatniks Dinner Club; the

The Behavior Therapy Center of Greater Washington offers an introductory
group for individuals who
struggle with hoarding and its impact on their lives. This 8-week group
uses Cognitive-Behavioral
Therapy (CBT) strategies to:
* educate you about hoarding,
* develop skills to address hoarding problems,
* address barriers to overcoming hoarding,
* and develop strategies for working with setbacks.
Topics addressed include:
* Manifestations of hoarding
* Causes of hoarding
* Emotional Attachment and Erroneous Beliefs
* Reinforcement of new behaviors
* Replacement of past behaviors
* Strategies for letting go and getting organized
* Making goals
