SUPPORT THE NEW EURASIA SCHOLARSHIP FUND

Many students cannot afford to continue their education in universities in Russia, Ukraine and other parts of Eastern Europe. The Eurasia Center has a program to help talented, underprivileged scholars who want to learn but lack funds. In 2005 the chair of Eurasia Center's Education Program, James Schneider, created such a scholarship for the East Ukrainian National University in Lugansk, Ukraine. He created a writing competition by working with one of the top professors at the University to select a topic on international affairs for students to write about. The winners of the competition used the prize money to further their education at the University. 46 students submitted papers for the competition and three scholars were chosen as winners and awarded various amounts of scholarship stipends.

This Eurasia Center scholarship program was a citizen-to-citizen based initiative. It also involved institutes of higher learning which are finding it more difficult to help their brightest scholars in need support themselves through their programs of study.  Please support our Eurasia Center Scholarship Fund to make a world of difference!

WORLD RUSSIAN FORUM in May 2007
The Eurasia Center will organize the WORLD RUSSIAN FORUM
The WORLD RUSSIAN FORUM is to be held in the U.S. Congress in May 2007. Since 1991, The World Russian Forum has become the premier catalyst for open discussions and relationship building between Russia, America, and opinion makers of other European and Asian nations.  Participants in the 2006 World Russian Forum were able to speak with members of the US Senate and House of Representatives along with officials of numerous American governmental agencies including the Departments of Commerce, State, Homeland Security, Defense, and International Trade. Other beneficial relationships were initiated with American, Russian, and Eurasian leaders representing investment, banking, high technology, energy production, economic development, and NGO organizations.

Conference attendees to the Forum were key Russian leaders of: the National Duma; Office of His Excellency Vladimir Putin, President, the Russian Federation; Regional governors and their staffs; leaders in the energy, high technology, medical, and science research sectors; bankers; managers of natural resources processing and manufacturing concerns; representatives of Non-Governmental  Organizations (NGOs) working on the issues of democracy, transparent governance, and humanitarian development; along with reporters from major U.S. and Russian media outlets.
